Bandai Namco Group is to open a series of family entertainment centres in India through its recently formed local subsidiary, Bandai Namco India.

The first of these directly-managed locations is due to open at The Oberoi Mall in Mumbai by the end of this month.
The new 9,264sq.ft FEC, which will have a Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures theme, will feature children’s play equipment and what the company described as “one of India’s largest redemption prize line-ups.”
“Expansion in the fast growing and increasingly affluent Asian region is a key component of the group’s mid-term vision plan,” Bandai Namco Asia president Masaharu Igarashi said. “With a wholly-owned subsidiary, we now have a direct presence in one of the largest markets in Asia – India.
“We believe Indian audiences are ready for entertainment facilities of global standards and it will become one of the fastest growing new markets for our group.”
Takeo Yagi, director and COO of Bandai Namco India, added: “Mumbai, despite being India’s second largest city, does not have that many world-class entertainment facilities. The new centre from Bandai Namco will not only address that gap, it will also put Mumbai on the world map of Bandai Namco centres.
“I’m sure Mumbaikars will love the new centre with its state-of-art playing machines and a redemption zone on a scale not seen before.”
