German AWP manufacturer Bally Wulff had its own solution to the problem of how to introduce German operators to its new range of machines following the cancellation of the IMA show - it took 180 operating companies on a mini-cruise from Kiel to Oslo.
The ship set sail yesterday from the northern German port and today was due to dock in the Norwegian capital where the 300 guests in the Bally Wulff party will go on a sightseeing tour, returning to the ship for an overnight sailing back to Kiel tomorrow.
In the opulent conference suite of the Colorline ship MV Color Fantasy, the company used the auditorium to present its two top machines for 2013, Secret Island and Magic Ca$hpot, and were entertained by a talk on decisive and positive thinking to offset the German industry's current problems with the regulators. It came from the famous (and controversial) German football referee Urs Meier.
A full report on the event will be carried in a forthcoming issue of InterGame.
