UK trade association BACTA hosted a Tickets2Wishes VIP day with the local Member of Parliament, at Southsea Island Leisure Centre in Portsmouth at which a cheque for £1,000 was handed over for local community use from the association’s charity fund.

Local families turned out in force to enjoy themselves at the amusement arcade. Tickets2Wishes is BACTA’s own charity that it runs in partnership with Rays of Sunshine that helps seriously ill youngsters and their families. BACTA members operating seaside arcades run their campaign by inviting customers to donate their unwanted redemption tickets.

So far BACTA members have raised £500,000 through its charitable trust. The MP, Stephen Morgan, said: “It is great to see charitable giving through BACTA and Rays of Sunshine’s family fun day helping people with life limiting conditions.”

James Miller, president of BACTA, said: “The association is all about family and friends coming together to make memories and by supporting Rays of Sunshine through out Tickets2Wishes scheme we can bring deserving families together for family days out that they won’t soon forget.”
