The new competitive amusement attraction of axe throwing has come to Wales.

Boom Battle

The first Boom: Battle Bar has opened in the country – the second in the UK – in Cardiff. It opened for business on Nov 21, offering the city’s residents a number of gaming experiences that include axe throwing and hamerschlagen, a Bavarian game that involves knocking nails into a tree stump with a hammer. It also offers electronic darts, crazier golf, table tennis, pool tables, shuffleboard and cornhole.

The 12,500sq.ft bar in the venue serves custom cocktails, craft beers and premium spirits and there is a range of food choices. An outdoor bar and seating area with big screens for sports fans, capable of holding 300 people, will open when the weather permits.

At the moment, Boom: Battle Bar, must comply with Welsh government's health and safety precautions, but when the measures ease the bar will open until 4am, seven days a week.

Boom: Battle Bar is a UK franchise with 25 sites planned by 2022. Venues have been signed from London’s O2 Arena, the Lakeside shopping centre, Liverpool city centre, Manchester’s Print Works and Glasgow’s St Enoch Centre among others.
