The 2008 Annual Conference of Chinese e-Game Industry (ACCGIA), held in Beijing People Great Hall, China, on December 16, saw numerous companies presented with awards for their contributions to the Chinese gaming industry as well as numerous speeches from industry officials.

 

Lou Qinjian, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, made a speech which focussed on key issues within the industry such as new opportunities and challenges for the Chinese e-gaming industry, development of original Chinese e-game software, the enhancement of Chinese e-game software technology, the enhancement of independent innovation of Chinese e-game companies and improvement of CGI styles, etc.

Zhang Yingwei, secretary of the Civilisation Office of Central Communist Party Committee of China, also made an important speech, which focussed on the major issues such as the necessity to completely understand the development policy of CGI, serious recognition of e-gaming’s impact on minors, the reinforcement of e-gaming companies’ self-discipline and how to help minors stay away from harmful network e-games.
