The growing international importance of the Middle East amusement market and its trade show, DEAL, will be enhanced still more this year by an industry awards event.
The show will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 9-11 and the recently-formed trade association for the Middle East, MENALAC, will host the first MENA Leisure Entertainment and Attractions Industry Awards and Gala. It will be held on the evening of April 10.
Silvio Liedtke, head of the events committee of the association, who is also COO of Landmark Leisure, one of the region’s top FEC operating companies, said that it would be the first time in the Middle East and North African industry’s history that “we will be celebrating excellence and recognising quality entertainment operations, safe practices and exceptional industry personnel who have led by example to enhance the profile of our wonderful industry.”
Liedtke said that the event would be accompanied by a gala dinner at which it was expected that leaders of both the regional and global amusement and entertainment industry would attend.
The awards would be decided by a panel, a jury of experts "who understand our industry, its value and its commitment to its larger demographic/consumer base."
