LAI Games’ Virtual Rabbids: The Big Ride won the 2018 Innovator Award at the Amusement Expo in Las Vegas last week.

The first attendant-free VR attraction operates in the same way as any other coin-op amusement game and dominated a show in which all of the talk was of VR.

Mirry Glavan, managing director of LAI Games, said: “LAI Games is paving the way for innovation in the out-of-home entertainment industry, and awards like this confirm we are doing it right. We are very fortunate to have such a creative and passionate team who make innovative products like this possible.”

LAI has won the Innovator Award on a number of occasions in recent years and the credit for Rabbids is shared with video game developer Ubisoft. The technology includes a D-Box motion platform, HTV Vive headsets, dynamic wind simulation and hi-fi audio. LAI is a subsidiary of Helix Leisure.
