Major Saudi Arabian FEC owner Al-Othaim has been awarded the Tourism Excellence Award for its Saffori Land branded locations.
The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage made the award after screening a number of candidates.
The Best Entertaining City award was received from His Excellency Prince Sultan Bin Sulman Bin Abdelaziz, chairman of the commission, who presented the award to Saleh Abdullah Al-Othaim, vice-president of Al-Othaim Leisure and Tourism Company, at a ceremony.
Al-Othaim Group operates 15 FECs across the Kingdom and in neighbouring countries. Its latest opening is one of its Faby Land locations and is situated at the Dandy Mega Mall in Cairo, Egypt, covering 1,500 sq. m.
At its location in the UAE, Deerfields, Abu Dhabi, the company has opened a new Freestyler six-seater ride and a new XD Dark Ride. Al-Othaim is also planning a new Faby Land opening at Dubai Festival City Mall, which will have 16 rides over 70,000sq.ft and a My Town edutainment facility.
Planned for the future is another Faby Land in Egypt at the Porto Cairo Mall, which will open shortly, the company’s first outdoor park, plus a further opening in the New Year at Abha in Saudi Arabia at the Al Rashid Mall.
