Not all entertainment businesses are going to the wall - occasionally a new centre opens up and that’s the case in Queensland, Australia.

Ticket Time

The new Ticket Time venue opened just in time for the school holidays on the Gold Coast. Owner Luke Phillips has now had much of the holidays with his new venture and despite coronavirus protocols, it is paying off.

From the start, Luke invested in an Embed system that helped him overcome the difficulties. Inter-state travel restrictions and even border closures did not help because tourism was impacted severely. With limited staff and the challenge of implementing extensive Covid-19 regulations such as capacity management, guest arrival check-in for track and trace purposes, and social distancing, Phillips needed a system that would act as an additional staff member, but without compromising customer experience.

The Embed self-service kiosk gave him those advantages, Phillips said. Customers could reload game cards and check balances without waiting in line. Additionally, Luke worked with a local mall operator to set up a "pop-up arcade", an unmanned unit available for anyone with a Ticket Time game card to use.

“The biggest improvement and help to our business was the Embed Kiosk,” said Phillips. “With smaller staffing during this time, this device has been so valuable for us because it takes the pressure off our staff when they are busy. It is the best investment machine I have purchased."

Daniel Hudson, global head of sales at Embed, said: “In these uncertain times it is rewarding and inspiring when you find people who view the world through a lens of opportunity. Helping customers to lower their operating costs while driving higher profit is at the core of everything at do.”
