Theme park operators in Queensland, Australia, are combining to lobby for an earlier restart than the projected July 10.

The two big companies, Village Roadshow with Warner Bros Movie World, Sea World, Wet ‘n’ Wild and Paradise Country, as well as Ardent Leisure which has Dreamworld, said that the Queensland Government’s capacity requirement of just 100 people is unworkable.
The parks are included in phase three of the government’s Recovery Roadmap but without thousands of visitors, the venues would not be viable. Each has put together its own plan for controlling crowds and self-distancing within the parks which are now being looked at by the authorities.
Village Roadshow is currently negotiating with BGH Capital, a private equity company, to sell the business for A$465m (€287m).
