The past year has seen prices for amusement games rise by 10 per cent in Australia, reports leading distributor Bruce Colbourne of AMD, Sydney.

Colbourne, who represents Stern Pinball, LAI, Apple, Billares Sam, Andamiro, ICE, Namco and Sega products, among other lines in Australia, said that the exchange rates against the US dollar – the principal currency for trading amusement games - had reached AU$0.87 against US$1.

“This has made sales and distribution more difficult, of course,” said Colbourne, but he reports that the industry in Australia continues to display expansion.

A full report on the Australasia market will appear in the September InterGame.
