Statistics show that on average, gameplay sessions have recovered to 85 per cent of pre-lockdown levels in 21 of 29 Omni Arena locations that have reopened.

By venue type, go-karting venues have recovered the fastest, notably exceeding pre-lockdown levels, followed by bowling. General FEC, trampolines and movie theatres are recovering the slowest.

Average revenues for Omni Arena operators have recovered to about 85 per cent of the pre-lockdown average and the company reports that the top 15 per cent of sites are recording revenues of more than $20,000 in August.

“Revenues to our operators have recovered well,” said Jan Goetgeluk, founder and CEO of Virtuix. “The data is encouraging, but we’re not out of the woods yet, especially with slower months ahead. I hope we can work together as an industry to get past this crisis.”

Omni Arena is a full-body VR attraction for up ot four players. Motion platforms inside the attraction enable players to walk and run around inside video games.
