A last-minute about-turn on permission to reopen their arcades has left operators in Massachusetts, US, furious. They were due to open on July 6, but the state governor denied them at the 11th hour.

Massachusetts is in phase three of its reopening, which permits casinos, gymnasiums and movie theatres to open, but arcades and amusement parks area among those businesses waiting for phase four.
Governor Charlie Baker has said that high-risk businesses, such as bars and amusement locations with mass gatherings, will not resume until phase four – and that won’t begin until there is an effective treatment or vaccine for Covid-19.
