Mobile Star has announced that its proprietary karaoke vending machine was used over 60 times, nearly to full capacity, during one day in New York recently.
Following the pilot, the company reached a preliminary distribution agreement with Apple Industries, which plans to distribute the Mobile Star’s next generation entertainment vending booth, utilising its well-established marketing channels.
Apple Industries currently operates a vast distribution network, placing products in shopping centres, amusement parks, theatres, casinos, restaurants and pubs. Each vending machine is expected to generate over $30,000 in gross annual revenues.
Allen Weisberg, president of Apple Industries, commented: "We plan to begin marketing the machine in the second half of 2010 and we expect to distribute over 1,000 units in the first 12 months.
"Today there are over 40,000 bars nationwide with jukeboxes. We anticipate placing the Mobile Star in many of these locations in the coming years, in addition to other locations such as nationwide theatre chains."
According to Weisberg, the Mobile Star fits right into Apple Industries’ line-up of machines and bring owners a "satisfying return on investment".
"With the growing national interest in karaoke, stemming from song contests like American Idol we are confident that the Mobile Star will become a market winner," said Wiesberg.
