This year's AOU show, held in Japan, has once again proved the coin-op amusement industry is alive and kicking with an increase in visitor number and a plethora of new product on show from Sega, Taito and Konami to name a few.
According to the organisers’ figures, 45,160 people attended this year’s show. Taito showcased its gun shooting Elevator Action game alongside Music Gun Gun and Haunted Museum. On Sega’s stand was the new robot battle game, Border Break, which is controlled with a dedicated joystick and mouse, with up to two teams of 10 battling each other. The amusement giant also exhibited its new arcade hardware - Ringedge and Ringwide, which will be run on the new game Border Break. Following its appearance at ATEI, in London last month, Konami’s stand once again had a strong music theme to it with Dance Dance Revolution X, DrumMania and BeatMania making an appearance.
