VR operator Anvio is expanding across the US, with a new site in Detroit, Michigan.

Mainly known for its sites in Europe, the company now has a strong presence in the US, with venues already open in cities including Los Angeles, Santa Monica and San Diego, California.

The Detroit location will mark its debut in the Midwest region, with a scheduled opening this month. It will feature Anvio’s flagship 40x40ft free roam gaming arena. Pool tables, games consoles and a private part space will also be available at the 2,865sq.ft venue.

It will be operated by Terrance Webster, an ICU nurse taking his first steps into business ownership. He said: “This is a niche that not a lot of people offer. In Detroit, I don’t have any competition. If you’re looking for VR in the city, it’s going to be me, and I’m going to provide the best quality experience possible.”

Plans are also underway for another location in Long Beach, California, while venues in Fort Myers, Florida and Texas are also expected.
