The long-running saga over the development of a "Disneyland" at Dartford in Kent, under the London Resort brand, has reached the courts.

The proposal for the giant resort, near the River Thames at Ebbsfleet, was first mooted in 2012, but has hit a number of hurdles over the years, effectively preventing it happening and running up costs of over £100m.
The plan for the London Resort, owned by a Kuwaiti family, was forged around a deal with Paramount Global, the US movie and media giant.
Paramount had struck a deal with the developer in 2019 to permit rides based on the film franchises held by Paramount, including Mission Impossible and Indiana Jones.
The Daily Telegraph reported that the string of setbacks that beleaguered the theme park’s development had resulted in Paramount suing in the High Court to get its money back.
The newspaper said that it had seen documents showing that Paramount is owed £13.5m from the project, which filed for administration earlier this year.
