The Australasian Gaming Expo, set to open at Sydney’s International Convention Centre in Sydney today (August 14), will have more exhibitors than in recent years.

Major tenpin bowling company QubicaAMF will be among the exhibitors through its distributor in Australia, Zax Amusements of Melbourne. And there are other notable exhibitors, including Tony Argery’s funhouse Amusements. They are all recognizing that the major locations in Australia are private members’ clubs, ex-servicemen’s organisations, for example, with luxurious facilities for members, all financial supported by the gambling machines, known as ‘poker machines’  or simply ‘pokies’.

The awareness of the add-on capabilities of the amusement sector is gradually growing among the clubs and now separate areas are beginning to make their appearance within the clubs. That brings some of the amusement suppliers into the major casino/clubs trade show that will now run for three days.
