A new amusement industry policy was announced at the recent China International Gaming and Amusement Fair by the vice chief of the Culture Market Department, Zhang Xinjian.
By April 30, 2010, any machine that does not pass the review standards will be out of the market.
Operators within the industry were said to be concerned that the market would suffer as the majority of machines currently operating have not adopted the new standards, meaning there would only be a small number of machines left and a loss of revenue for locations. It is thought only 327 machines currently meet the standards of the first formal review.
