A number of the amusement industry’s biggest names are to exhibit at the Cruise Shipping Miami trade show in the US this month, highlighting the important role played by amusements and arcade-style games on board cruise liners.

Taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Center on March 11-14, the event is to feature a dedicated Amusements and Recreational Attractions Pavilion.

Among those exhibiting will be Sega Amusements, Benchmark Games, Betson Enterprises, BMI and Brady Distributing. Namco, meanwhile, will be exhibiting in the Informational and Entertainment Technology section of the exhibition.

"As more and more families take to cruising, we have seen a massive increase in the size of the arcade and gaming venues on contemporary cruise liners," said Peter Gustafson, general manager for Sega Amusements. "Whether it's a mother playing Sonic Air Hockey with her son or a father and daughter racing head-to-head in Grid, our new driving game, cruise lines look to us to supply them with the latest editions of electronic games and arcade-style entertainment."
