The US’ Amusement and Music Operators Association has decided to join its manufacturer and distributor colleagues from the American Amusement Machine Association when the latter goes to Washington DC next February.

The AAMA has been engaged in ongoing lobbying missions to the nation's capital city to discuss currency and small business taxation and regulation. The AAMA's legislative counsel, SNR Denton, has facilitated the meetings. The law firm also works with the AMOA. The AAMA has been focused on advancing a bill that would eliminate the dollar coin. The AMOA has expressed more ambivalence on the issue. The operator group surveyed its members early this year on the issue. Operators said they did not want the AMOA to lobby to get rid of the dollar coin. But the same survey group expressed a desire for the trade association to be engaged on the issue generally.
