AMI Entertainment’s main focus at this year’s IAAPA Attractions Expo was on its latest amusement platform, the ML-1.
Speaking with InterGame at the show, the manufacturer’s Mike Maas (pictured) said: “While the product is not yet fully international and IAAPA is an international show, we couldn’t not show the ML-1 as it is perfect for a lot of our markets and there will no doubt be interest in it. This is a brand new product and the biggest thing we’ve done in the gaming space for a long time.
“We started over completely with this product and have produced a platform that can be built on in the future, unlike the original Megatouch terminal, which we had taken as far as we could.”
However, Maas believes that while there are operators out there that “get it” and are doing well with the product, there is still plenty of room for improvement and it is all about operators changing their mindset. “It is earning really well in locations where operators are taking the time to educate their customers,” he said. “It’s all about educating the bar staff, the waiting staff and so on so they can then educate the end users. The product is all about getting deeper into the game and encouraging repeat play so it needs to be understood by the player.”
One of the major advantages of the new ML-1 platform from AMI is the fact that it can be updated much more regularly than previous Megatouch models and since its launch at the end of September has already had five software updates.
