The 2010 AmEx show closed yesterday to a round of positive comment from exhibitors.
The first show since organiser Martin Dempsey passed away last year, it remains ‘the’ social event in the international exhibition calendar and AmEx saw the major players in the industry show their support for the market - presenting a range of product from redemption and video arcade games to multiplayers and jukeboxes.
TCS John Huxley exhibited for the first time with the manufacturer’s business development director Andrew Davies describing the show as "great and more enjoyable than some of the larger exhibitions in the show calendar."
Hungarian manufacturer Playsystem also took a stand for the first time - showcasing its Gold’em digital poker table. The manufacturer is focusing strongly on increasing its international presence during 2010 with Brian Marks now heading up international sales from the UK.
Sega Amusements’ Aaron Gilbey told InterGame the Irish market continues to be important to the company and it has "worked hard to bring a variety of well-priced products and something for everyone including single site, FEC and retail operators.
"The Irish show is always a pleasure to attend and this year has been no exception," said Gilbey. "We have received a good level of orders from new and existing customers."
Electrocoin took a stand last minute following a high level of interest from Irish customers at the EAG Expo in London and Kevin Weir told InterGame: "An extension of the UK market, we have refocused on Ireland since we Mick Blanche came on board. We have never really had the contacts over here but are in a much stronger position now as we also have Bob Egan based over here for technical support."
A full show report will appear in the April issue of InterGame.
