The best theme park in the UK is Alton Towers, it has been decided in the first Theme Park Awards from ThemeParks-UK.com, an independent guide to British parks.
Around 150,000 votes from park-goers across the country were counted and combined with scores from a panel of judges.
The "Best Theme Park for Families" was judged to be Chessington World of Adventure and Thorpe Park took the prize for "Best Theme Park for Thrills".
Alton Towers scored high in 14 categories, Blackpool Pleasure Beach won 11 awards and Thorpe Park ten.
