A new family entertainment centre solely for women has been opened at Saudi Arabia’s Al Khobar city in the Eastern Province.
Al Hokair, the major FEC operator, has opened the FEC as part of its Al Hokair Time Al Azizyah installation at Khobar. It features a SkyZone trampoline park and a Snowy Forest with activities including skiing, snowballing, camping and mazes.
The park is open to females aged five and up, although all children between two and 10 are allowed in the Snow Forest. The new all-female destination is claimed ot be the first of its kind and is completely managed by a team of women.
Mishal Al Hokair, vice president and general manager of Al Hokair Entertainment said: “Our Al Hokair Time is the largest stand-alone FEC destination in the region to offer a unique family entertainment experience.”
The location is another example of the gradual relaxation of rules for women in the kingdom. Last September women were permitted into sports stadiums for the first time and women are now being permitted to drive cars.
