The most notable change in ticket redemption games in the future will be the further advances of cashless technologies, says Bob’s Space Racers’ Larry Steele, vice-president of international sales.

In an interview with InterGame for an upcoming in-depth article on ticket redemption games, Steele says that locations utilising all-cashless payment systems will happen "sooner rather than later".
Steele said: “Whether you want it or not – it will happen. A near-cashless society is a real possibility; maybe in our lifetime.”
He does not believe, however, that it will be possible for ticket redemption games to become less tactile in face of the after-effects of the pandemic.
“From what we have seen, many locations have implemented numerous strategies to keep their guests safe, from social distancing to being methodical about wiping games down between use. We feel that this will be the 'new normal' for quite a while. But as history has taught us, the pandemic will ultimately pass and operations will eventually regain the sort of normalcy that we are all longing for.
"When it will pass, no-one can say; it could be weeks, months or even a year. But to change an entire operation to be a completely touch-free operation could end up being more costly in the long run when things do return to normal.”
