One of the biggest names in the amusement industry, Alberto Zamperla, president of the ride manufacturing company that bears his name, has sadly passed away.

Zamperla, who died suddenly last Thursday, was the fourth generation of his family to work in the company and he was its current president.
He probably did more than anyone else in his native Italy to bring about major changes in the amusement industry. A remarkably creative engineer, he spent many of his early years in the US developing rides.
A major contributor to the design and content of Disneyland Paris, he also worked in depth on projects and rides for Universal, Six Flags, Paramount and other big industry names.
An IAAPA Hall of Fame inductee, Zamperla joined his father Antonio in that illustrious and select gathering.
His funeral will take place on Wednesday, November 23 in Vicenza, Italy. He is survived by his wife, Paola and sons Antonio, Alessandro and Adriano.
