Another aquarium is close to completion in the Middle East, this time the largest in the region.

The National Aquarium will be in Abu Dhabi’s Al Qana sector and is currently 70 per cent built. It will open in early 2020.
It will cover 7,000sq.m and is anticipated to attract over one million visitors annually. Al Qana is a new waterfront destination in Abu Dhabi and is being developed by Al Barakah International Investment.
The objective is to house over 33,000 marine creatures in the new aquarium and it will have quarters for 80 marine experts and specialists.
For general manager Paul Hamilton, it will be the 12th public aquarium that he has been associated with. “It will be the most exciting in terms of scale, unique characteristics and attention to detail.”
