The penguin-themed 18-hole golf course and children's park, set to open this Spring, are part of a larger regeneration effort for the town's seafront, according to Yorkshire Live.

£3m is being invested in the new attractions, with contributions by the Tees Valley Combined Authority as part of the Welcome to Redcar fund.

Other additions in the regeneration project are to include new grassy areas and a multifunctional sports hub called the Coatham Activity Hub.

"These exciting plans will transform the seafront into a family destination for activities and provide a wonderful area where families can spend some quality time together," said Councillor Chris Gallagher, cabinet member for economic growth at Redcar Council.
