An action-packed pair of new video redemption titles graced Adrenaline Amusement’s booth at IAAPA last week, both sporting major licences.

Hot Wheels: King of the Road challenges up to six players to race on one of three tracks to collect the most coins while fending off their competition. The driver who gets the most coins wins the race and the tickets, with more drivers meaning bigger rewards.

CEO at Adrenaline Francois Lachance said: “We’ve brought the iconic Hot Wheels tracks to the arcades. It’s a competitive game that’s ideal for playing with a group of friends, it’s a lot of fun.”

Currently in a six-player format only, a smaller, four-player cabinet will be available in January. While the game is currently shipping, it’s only to Dave & Buster’s due to an exclusive deal with the chain until the end of the year.

Continuing the success Adrenaline has had with the IP, four-player family game Rabbids and Ladders was the other new release. “We went with the premise of reinventing the old snakes and ladders board game as a redemption piece,” said Lachance.

“Using toilets instead of snakes and ladders to advance you up the playfield, players have to try and reach the bonus wheel so they can spin it and win up to 1,000 tickets. The pace and theme of the game allows us to utilise the Rabbids humour really well and build that into the game experience.” Production of the game will commence in December.

“We’ve had a phenomenal reaction to both our new games. While they’re both video redemption, they’re very different games. Rabbids and Ladders is focused on the tickets, while Hot Wheels is more of a party game centred on player versus player competition.”
