The Amusement and Coin-Op Show, the annual autumn event for the British industry, held in London’s Olympia, has been cancelled, it was announced by ACOS organiser Swan Events.

Swan’s Karen Cooke has reported that the show for this year is "just not viable", mainly because of the logistics of the Olympia venue.
“I have spent months looking at ways of making the show work and if there was an appetite for the show in current Covid-19 circumstances. I have come to the conclusion that we coujd not deliver a show of the standard that exhibitors require and that would give them an acceptable return on investment in this difficult climate.”
Cooke said one of the biggest problems at Olympia is that the hall that is used for the event is on the fourth floor and accessible only by elevators. “This is challenging at the best of times and would cause further issues for both the build-up and access for visitors.”
She added: “As you know, an important part of ACOS is the social atmosphere and the chance to sit and have a drink and chat with your clients. That too would be almost impossible. You can still do these things in a larger venue but the space available in the ACOS hall just does not allow room for all of the visitors all of the time.”
The show next year is to be held from October 20 to 21.
