Representatives from the American Amusement Machine Association and the Amusement and Music Operators Association went to Washington last week for meetings with members of Congress.
The AAMA began quarterly visits to Washington in September 2011, but this was the first time the two associations have joined together for a visit.
AAMA president John Schultz told US industry magazine Play Meter: "We had good conversations. We wanted to make sure they knew we were there to work with them, that we represent the coin-operated game industry and that we have our own well established parental advisory system in place to self-monitor and assure that we are parent and family friendly.
"On every trip we've made to Washington, our industry representatives have come away with a renewed passion and positive feelings. We need to work together as an industry to protect our industry from federal legislation and taxes."
