Although it has been a year best remembered for its endless uncertainty, Embed is finishing with a string of awards.

Andy Welsh

The cashless systems specialist’s Andy Welsh, chief technology officer, was ranked in the top 15 CTO professionals in the prestigious 2020 Asean CIO50 Awards. The award is presented for business innovation, leadership and resilience.

The awards, made from countless entries, spanned major company names such as Coca Cola, Deutsche Bank and Johnson & Johnson.

“This recognition is a validation of the team’s hard work to develop solutions that directly enable the survival of our customers, partners and industry,” said Welsh (pictured).

“Given the pandemic climate, consumers are pervasively aware and chronically worried about keeping their families Covid-free and safe. No one is going to a business they deem unsafe; they need to be reassured with the measures that the operator takes to mitigate risk.

“A simple Google search yields the data supporting the dramatic spike in mobile payments, which is why I am proud that Embed is the first to go to market with The Mobile Wallet.”

Embed was the only FEC business solutions provider to partner with Google and Apple to gain compliance approval for the Mobile Wallet, making the company the only non-banking finance-payment business that sits in the mobile wallet.

Additionally, the year was notable for Embed in that Renee Welsh, CEO solutions group for Embed, was named among the Top 50 Women in Tech Review. Also, CIO Review included Embed in its Top 10 Most Promising Gaming Tech Solutions Providers. Finally, Silicon Review named the company in its 50 Leading Companies of the Year 2021.
