Gamification, sensory fun and interactive attractions are all on the rise in FECs. To get an idea of where this is all headed, InterFun spoke to Dr Raine Kajastila, CEO of Valo Motion.

INTERFUN: What are the latest developments in sensory or interactive technologies aimed at kiddies?

Kajastila: There are an array of interactive solutions on the market, ranging from interaction-like attractions with just buttons and timers to more elaborate interacting such as full-body tracking with immersive gaming experience. The indoor play location visitors are used to high-quality gaming in their homes. Naturally, they are expecting to get the same experience in an indoor play location. This is one of the reasons why we are seeing more demand for high-quality active gaming and digital attractions. Interactive activities can no longer be simple. They need to entertain one or more people for longer periods of time and generate repeat visits.
