Research generated by InterGame for its annual Year Book, which will be published next month, has thrown up some interesting statistics about the size of the industry.
Among them is revealed that 380,000 electronic darts games have been produced by the world’s leading manufacturers and a high proportion of them, possibly 70 per cent, remain in operation. The figures do not include the unknown Chinese statistics.
The most prolific producers have been Arachnid with 180,000 units, Valley/Shelti/Löwen with about 120,000, and then a big gap to Merit Scorpion, a group of 11 separate Spanish producers, Medalist, Cyberdyne and Darts Live, all of whom are fewer than 20,000 each down to just a few thousand.
