There is a delay to the proposed opening of the 20th Century Fox theme park destined to be built by Genting Malaysia.

The opening date has been pushed back to 2017 following talks between the interested parties.

The park is being built at the Genting Highlands Resort in Malaysia, owned by the same group that has extensive interests in international casinos. It will be the first 20th Century Fox theme park in the world.

It is proposed to be 25 acres in size and will contain 25 thrill rides and attractions based upon major movies, such as Ice Age, Life of Pi, Night and the Museum, Planet of the Apes and Titanic.

The project also includes a new shopping mall and more gambling facilities, which will open halfway through 2016.
