India’s National Institute of Technology chose software specialist Semnox Solutions to provide its cashless solution for food outlets at its annual Festember event in September.

The four-day inter-college cultural, literary and arts festival included 17 outdoor food kiosks, including major international chains and leading local restaurants. All the vendors’ details were entered and stored in the Semnox system.

Cashless cards were distributed to over 4,000 guests, capturing basic details about the attendees and storing cash for the purchase of food items. More than 15,000 food transactions were handled using the RFID-based Festember cashless cards. The organisers were also able to access detailed reports on a daily basis.

“Parafait was able to quickly adapt and meet the unique requirements of this event,” said Shreyas Rai, sales and marketing manager at Semnox. “Parafait is a very powerful and user-friendly management system that can handle single or multiple events.

“Our capabilities to incorporate the latest technologies into our products and provide cost effective solutions is making it easier for many event organisers to switch from their legacy or manual systems to the Parafait Cashless Debit Card System.”
