UK gaming group Gala Coral is actively seeking to sell its 135 bingo clubs, the Financial Times reports.

Gala Bingo

The company, which completed the sale of its Gala Casinos business to the Rank Group last year, is understood to have appointed financial advisory firm Lazards to conduct the sale.

Its bingo estate is estimated to be worth in excess of £250m.

The news comes in the wake of the UK Chancellor’s decision to halve bingo duty, which some have suggested may make the business more attractive to potential investors.

A sale of Gala’s bingo operations would see the company focus on its estate of licensed betting offices and online bookmaking business.
