Is the IAAPA Attractions Expo the number one international show on the industry calendar? For many, there is no doubt…

IAAPA

THIS month, the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, will once again be the stage for the annual IAAPA Attractions Expo. On November 19-22, the venue will play host to over 1,000 exhibiting companies and an estimated 26,000 leisure industry professionals.

What makes the event so compelling is the sheer breadth of equipment and services on display and the fact that nearly every segment within the leisure industry is represented. From the perspective of the pay-to-play amusements sector, it is an opportunity to meet not only with the core customer base but to explore potential new applications for their products.

For David Goldfarb of PrimeTime Amusements, the Florida-based operator, seller and event renter of video arcade machines and simulators, this opportunity to engage with providers from across the spectrum is what makes the IAAPA expo such a key event.

“PrimeTime Amusements ultimately works in conjunction with a number of industries, including the entertainment, arcade, theming and food industries,” he told InterGame. “Just think of one example in our new Shake Shoppe Arcades – we have an ice cream shop and therefore partner with Hershey’s Ice Cream, we have a grill with hotdogs and chicken and therefore partner with food providers, we have an arcade room so we work with coin-op amusement companies and vendors, and we have a location to design and theme so as a result we partner with other theming providers.

“There are lots of moving parts in our business and we therefore need exposure to a lot of industries.”
