Digital Centre has not only established itself as one of the leaders in coin-operated photo booths, it has done so through a strategy of steady innovation as InterGame finds out

Digital Centre

Since debuting the Dr Face unit in 1997, Digital Centre has gone on to create international hits including Dr Fashion, Crazy Doctor, Pix-Mix Factory, Photo-ID, Ping-Pong Kombat, Baby Boom, Instant Photo Souvenir, New Generation Blue and Black as well as private rental photo booths such as Party’N’Go, Fold’N’Go, The Strip, The Wall Strip, the Mega Strip & Mega Strip Combo.

As we move further into 2012, Digital Centre celebrates its 15th anniversary in the industry and with this the manufacturer continues to take photo booths to the next level through innovation and design, having introduced five new and versatile products. All include a wide range of features, such as gigantic photo strips, video confessions option, real portable booths, new STRIP Kiosk concept, customisable software, social network capabilities and much more.

“Our first unit Dr Face was a hit worldwide,” said the company’s CEO Josep Tarres, “and you can find several units still in operation today in locations such as Dave & Buster’s and other places. It was a product where you could put your face on a different body and it matched the skin colour of the player with the one from the character in the picture.”

In addition to the firm’s unique software packages, another innovation in the Digital Centre equipment line-up has been the company’s use of non-traditional cabinet designs. The cabinets not only boast a smaller footprint than traditional photo booth formats but offer attention-grabbing designs. For instance, Digital Centre’s heart-shaped Baby Boom, designed specifically to appeal to couples, offered a merged-photo option that simulated what their offspring might look like.

“We have always innovated,” said Tarres. “Creativity and innovation have always been the focus. By manufacturing new ideas and innovations we want to take the industry to the next level. We have also always believed in bringing innovation to the operators at the right price so they are able to make a good profit and increase their business. We also like to offer something different, take the MEGA Strip for example, where we print a giant strip 6x16ins.”
