Italy finally has a new government but the prohibitionist outlook is worrying the gaming industry, writes Alessio Crisantemi, editor of Gioco News.

“We will work hard to achieve the political objectives disclosed in the government’s coalition agreement,” said the new Italian premier, Giuseppe Conte, in his first public address after reading the list of ministers of his government. “We will work with determination to improve the quality of life of all Italians.”

The industry is very concerned about these words given the contents of the government’s largely anti-gaming agreement that the new premier promises to follow to the letter.
