MUSIC has inspired humans for millennia. For at least 40,000 years, homo sapiens have been enjoying the delights of rhythmic sound. From the invention of the first musical instrument, to the advent of recording and broadcasting music, it has become an intrinsic part of who we are as a species and how we express ourselves artistically.

Music has a unique ability to get people to move – to feel the rhythm of the beat. It’s little surprise then that this most primal of urges has been utilised in the amusement industry. What is surprising though, is how long it took. The first successful ventures into this medium were in the late 1990s, fairly late by arcade standards, so what does this relative newcomer offer that other types of attraction do not?
