Travelling fairs have long been pioneers within the amusement industry and are still going strong, writes Steph Norbury.
DESPITE competition from theme parks and amusement arcades, Europe’s travelling fairs do not diminish in popularity. Part of the reason for this is of course novelty, as the fair is by its very nature temporary.
Another reason undoubtedly is the tradition of the fair creates a feeling of nostalgia in families, as the core offering has not changed for generations.
