The amusement industry in Australia has to a certain degree played second fiddle to the gambling industry over the years.

There are nearly 200,000 poker machines in the country, many of them in casinos, hotels and clubs, and they earn well. As a result, these venues are very high quality with revenue from the slots going to provide substantial restaurants, bars, décor and entertainment for their members.
