The first session of the 2012 World Gaming Executive Summit gets under way today in Barcelona.

Having relocated from Madrid, the event is this year being held at the W Hotel over the next three days.

Today’s ‘focus day’ will explore the political scene in Europe and its implications for the international gaming industry, as well as taking a look at emerging markets such as Asia and South America.

Wednesday sees the start of the full conference, with keynote addresses from MEP Jürgen Creutzmann and legal expert Anthony Cabot. This will then be followed by the Big Casino Debate on whether i-gaming will help or hurt the land-based gaming industry.

The conference comes to a close on Thursday with the Big Online Debate, which will see leading figures within the i-gaming sector debate the future of this fast-growing industry.

A full report from the show will be featured in the August issue of InterGaming.
