Two new gaming venues are opening within the space of a month in the US state of Virginia from Churchill Downs and Caesars Entertainment.

The US$460m Rose Gaming Resort in Dumfries was opened yesterday by Churchill Downs, an entertainment resort that features 1,650 historical racing machines along with bars, restaurants, an event space and hotel.
“Churchill Downs Incorporated is thrilled to deliver a destination resort that will be a major economic contributor to the Town of Dumfries and Northern Virginia,” said CEO Bill Carstanjen. “Along with our local hiring commitments and strong family-supporting wages, we are committed to continued investment in Prince William County as we are proud to do for all of the communities in which we operate in Virginia.”
Meanwhile, an opening date for Caesars Virginia has been set for December 12. The 587,000sq.ft resort will feature more than 90,000sq.ft of gaming space, including nearly 1,500 slots, 79 live-action table games, 48 electronic table games, a WSOP poker room and Caesars Sportsbook.
This will feature alongside the a 320-room hotel tower, convention space that also serves as a 2,500-seat live entertainment venue, spa, pool and eating facilities.
