Cliff Atkinson, president of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, has spoken of his vision for the resort after the company’s partnership with Mohegan comes to an end.

Speaking in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Atkinson said on Wednesday: “I think the goal of going to one experience, one property is similar to how most of the integrated resorts, especially in our market, (work). That’s the customer expectation, and that at the end of the day is really what we see as the future growth opportunity for this property.”

On Tuesday it was announced that Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is entering a transition period, due to be completed before the end of the year, towards Mohegan ending its casino management role at the venue.

“The property opened at a very challenging time, 2021, during Covid,” Atkinson said. “It takes a while for our properties to stabilise — you can look all across the Strip for examples of properties that have opened, have struggled a bit and then found their way — here is no different.”
