Culinary Union Local 226, Nevada’s largest labour union, called for a two-day strike, beginning on the morning of Friday, May 10, to mobilise agreement on a five-year contract on wages and benefits.

The union’s contract with Virgin Hotels expired in June 2023.

The union’s secretary-treasurer, Ted Pappageorge, said workers hoped the 48-hour strike would help expedite a new agreement.
