US operator Churchill Downs has, through subsidiary NKYRG, completed its purchase of the outstanding equity of Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky from Jack Ohio, an affiliate of Jack Entertainment and Hard Rock International.
The deal is worth $46m in cash.
Closure had needed the approval of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission and that was granted on Tuesday of this week.
Churchill Downs is a racing, online wagering and gaming entertainment company. It has in its portfolio the Kentucky Derby, the Derby City Gaming racing machine facility in Louisville, and Twinsires.com, the major online horse racing wagering platform.
Its casino interests cover 11,000 slots and VLTs plus 200 table games in eight states.
