In the UK, the Responsible Gambling Trust has engaged Hilary Stewart-Jones as the charity’s fifth independent trustee.
As a result of this appointment, its board now has an equal balance of independent and industry-related representatives. Hilary Stewart-Jones is a partner of DLA Piper, one of the largest global law firms. Based in the organisation’s London office, she specialises in gambling related issues.
Marc Etches, chief executive, said: “From the outset, one of our key strategic objectives has been to develop a governance structure which balances industry donors with independent trustees in order to generate widespread trust and credibility and I am delighted that we have now achieved this aim.”
